circleville marching band performs at battle of the bands

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio, Sept. 11, 2026 — Pickaway-Ross Career & Technology Center

welcomed all 10 of its home school marching bands to campus today for the annual

Battle of the Bands. It was the first time in four years that every home school band

participated in the competition.

The event began with a special observance commemorating the 25th anniversary of the

Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Following a moment of silence, Pickaway-Ross Law

and Public Safety seniors presented the colors. A combined band featuring Pickaway-

Ross students who perform with their home school bands, with assistance from

members of the Huntington band, then performed the national anthem.

During Battle of the Bands, participating marching bands perform for Pickaway-Ross

students and members of the public at three locations around campus. After watching

the performances, students vote to select the winning bands.

Circleville earned more than 30 percent of the vote to secure its second consecutive

championship. Logan Elm finished as runner-up, edging third-place Unioto by just one

vote.

The annual event gives Pickaway-Ross students an opportunity to reconnect with their

home schools while celebrating the musicianship and school spirit represented across

the district. Pickaway-Ross thanks all participating bands, directors and supporters for

making this year’s event a memorable one.
