On Tuesday, Circleville Middle School celebrated 17 new members who were inducted into the prestigious ranks of the  Jason Schaal Memorial Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society.

Our 2021 Class of NJHS Inductees are:

8th grade - Sydney Lattimer, Bella Morningstar, and Reid Seimetz

?

7th grade - Madison Blakeman, Audrey Cowdery, Claire Davis, Ali Ferrell, Drew Hoskins, Sydney Jones, Ava Justice, Liam McConnell, Allie Mullins, Isabelle Perini, Mya Pitts, Addison Powers, Taylor Strawser, and Amelia Tarbill.

Providing concluding remarks, Circleville Middle School principal Kevin Fox addressed the 2021 inductees speaking to their resilience and perseverance through a challenging year.

"This past year has been a challenge," said Circleville Middle School principal Kevin Fox. "You had to adjust and adapt as you have lived your life. You had to adjust and adapt to get your education. You have had to adjust how you provide service to others and how you lead. Through it all everyone's character has been tested, but more importantly every student's character shined through. You all should be proud of who you have become and what you have accomplished."

Current NJHS member Jackson Hatfield led the ceremony with the Pledge of Allegience followed by the Explanation of Induction by NJHS president and 8th grader Addisyn Ndayitwayeko.

2020 NJHS officers Brenna Bailey (scholarship), Jack Crosby (character), Jack Sorrell (service), and Maddux Bigam (leadership) led the lighting of the candles. 6th grade student Cicely Esterline led and ended the service with a piano medley.

We would like to thank NJHS advisors Lisa Powers and Wendy Jordan for their assistance in organizing today's event and for helping us showcase the next class of outstanding middle school student leaders in the process. To view today's ceremony in its entirety, visit the link here.
