On Thursday, March 12th Circleville City Schools announced that it will be closed effective March 13th-April 5th in accordance with Governor Mike DeWine's proclamation for K-12 public schools in the wake of the COVIDA-19 Coronavirus.
With the situation still very fluid, the district will continue to work closely with the Pickaway County General Health District, Pickaway County EMA, the Ohio Department of Health, and other government officials here locally with providing our students and families with updates on COVID-19 as safety and precautions continue to be released on a near daily basis. All school activities, including athletics, will be canceled on campus during this time.
Regarding currculum, Students in grades PK-8 will have remote learning links available for skill practice in core subject areas. All 9-12 Circleville High School students will continue to receive coursework and skill practice through Google Classroom. All staff will be available through their usual communications pathways electronically via email (found in the staff directory page), Remind, or Class Dojo from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday to assist you or answer questions. It is important to note that all remote learning opportunities are NOT blizzard bags as other districts are doing, however, in the event the state communicates that schools must provide mandatory and scored online instruction, our students should operate under the assumption that we may be given that directive by the Ohio Department of Education.
Each week we will be offering curbside pickup for our at the Pickaway-Ross Career and Technology Center-Circleville Campus located at 424 E. Mound Street, Circleville between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. MONDAY ONLY (starting April 6th). Students will be given the day's meals along with meals for the rest of the week.
The program is open to any child ages 3-19. Additionally, we are rolling out a bus delivery option after a successful pilot program with deliveries on the North and South ends of town. See locations and approximate times below:
