Circleville City to return to in-person learning 4 days a week

Starting October 5th, Circleville City Schools will move from a hybrid Schedule B calendar to a Schedule A Calendar (All students in Group A and B in person) in school Monday-Thursday. The district will continue to utilize Friday’s through December 18th (1st semester) as Tiger Remote Learning days and for small group instructional support.

As a reminder to our Tiger Remote Learning Option families (all online five days a week), the schedule change for in-person learners from Schedule B to Schedule A will not affect your Tiger and we are still committed to supporting your student remotely in any way we can.

In the event you feel comfortable sending your child to school for the second semester of the school year in January, please contact your building principal in writing by December 1st as to give the building time to create resources and schedules to assist your child with their transition back to campus. More immediately, if you have any concerns regarding your child’s online placement you can also contact your child’s principal to discuss further, however enrollment in the program is still required through the first semester of school.

All school start and end times, including split scheduling at the elementary school, will not change and will reflect the following:

  • Circleville Middle School/High School: 7:15 a.m. start and 1:20 p.m. release

  • Circleville Elementary School (grades K-2): 8:20 a.m. start and 2:20 p.m. release

  • Circleville Elementary School (grades 3-5): 9:20 a.m. start and 3:20 p.m. release

Transportation pick-up/drop-off estimates from the beginning of the year may fluctuate by 5 or 10 minutes during the first week as we account for added time needed to safely transport the combined student groups with this schedule change.

In the event of a spike in COVID-19 cases prompting the district to move back to our Schedule B: Hybrid Learning Calendar, students would then follow their group A and B schedule at that time. The district hopes to remain in Schedule A for as long as possible, but families should again be prepared to revert to the hybrid schedule on a week’s notice heading into flu season and the winter months. Looking ahead to the week of October 19th-23rd, this week will remain remote learning weeks for all students with assignments and classroom correspondence happening throughout the period to support our Tigers in distance learning.

We are excited to welcome back students on campus Monday through Thursday and thank our families for their continued support and patience to start the school year as we continue to monitor data and consult with the health department. Moving forward, all efforts to preserve social distance in the community and in school, wear protective masks, and screen ourselves for the symptoms of COVID-19 will ultimately affect our ability to stay in school full time. Circleville City Schools are proud to partner with families to keep all students safe in and out of the classroom in this shared mission.

For the latest in COVID-19 preparedness, plans, and resources be sure to check in to our COVID-19 Resource Hub each week for up to the minute updates. Stay safe and go Tigers!
