Mental Health Awareness Week
The Counseling Source

Mental Health Awareness Week runs from October 6th through the 12th annually. Did you know Circleville City Schools brings independent mental health counseling directly to our schools?

Annually, according to the The National Center for Biotechnology Information, high school students with significant symptoms of depression are more than twice as likely to drop out compared to their peers. Additionally, 1 in 6 U.S. youth aged 6-17 experience a mental health disorder each year.

To combat these trends, all three buildings in the district provide offices and support services to seven licensed mental health clinicians from The Counseling Source to work with students and families. The Counseling Source, Inc. is a Cincinnati based and therapist owned mental health agency. The program is insurance and medicaid accepted with a sliding scale fee for families.

All counselors from The Counseling Source in our school system are Ph.D., Psy.D., or Masters' level clinicians and include Psychologists, Licensed Independent Social Workers, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors, Licensed Social Workers, and Licensed Professional Counselors—with diverse theoretical and practical backgrounds.

From one-on-one counseling and group counseling to grief support and more, Circleville City Schools and The Counseling Source are committed to helping remove the stigma associated with mental health.

To find out more about the program, contact our school-based Counseling Source representative Dawn Whiteside at [email protected] or by calling 740-474-2495.
