Circleville City Schools - At the June 24th meeting of the board of education, district leadership unanimously approved adjusting the start date for the 2020-2021 school calendar to Tuesday, August 25th from its originally scheduled start date of August 19th.
While awaiting formal guidance from the Ohio Department of Education, Ohio Department of Health, and Ohio Governor Mike DeWine's office, the move allows the district added flexibility and time in preparing for students returning to campus in the fall. The board approved measure also enables the district to have 6 additional days for staff professional development training and to provide an August summer school for select students in need of academic remediation.

Important changes and notes as a result of the calendar adjustment:
Tuesday, August 25th will be the first official day of school for students in grades 1st-5th, 7-8th, and 10-12th.
Students in grades 6th and 9th will hold their annual orientation day on Monday, August 24th for their first official day of school in their new school buildings. This school day will start at 7:40 a.m. and conclude at 12:30 p.m.
Instructional staff will report on their originally scheduled start date of August 13th.
The first days of school for students in Kindergarten and Preschool will take place the week of August 31st on a staggered start as to get students acclimated to their new building in small groups. Circleville Elementary staff will contact families individually as to which days their child will be starting in these grades.
