READING ASSESSMENTS
During the week of January 14, literacy teachers and
specialsists from our school district have been giving
the children an assessment in reading. This will help
your child's teacher greatly in the use of guided reading
in the classroom, as it will give a very accurate description
of your child's progress thus far and reading readiness skills.

EARLY DISMISSAL PLANS
Does your child know exactly what to do should school be
dismissed early due to weather conditions or some other
calamity? Please review the plan with your child. The office
phone will not be available for your child to call you. An
announcement of an early dismissal would be called in to local
radio and television stations. The decision to release school
early is made by central office personnel.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS
1. Please call the school, 474-3940, when your child is going
to be absent or tardy. If your child visits the doctor or dentist,
please send in the excuse indicating he/she was there.

2. You might want to have your child bring an extra change of
clothes in the book bag in case there is a milk or juice spill,
or your child just doesn't make it to the bathroom in time.

3. We are still collecting General Mills box tops until March 14.
Our school receives 10 cents for every box top collected.
