Mrs. Colangeli's Community Service Project

Mrs. Colangeli discussing project Mrs. Colangeli's Class

The following is an outline of the project given to Mrs. Colangeli's English students in order to begin their project.
The results of this project have been featured on 10TV, Columbus Dispatch, Circleville Herald, and Chillicothe Gazette as well as the ABC Nightly News.

Making a Difference,

You see problems everywhere, and sometimes you ask yourself, "How can I, as a young person, make a difference?"  Your opportunity has arrived.  The Circleville City Schools Foundation is providing each of you with $10.00.  With this money, do something for someone.  You may decide that someone is you, and keep the money for yourself; you may decide to donate it to an organization of your choice; you may decide to join forces with a classmate or a group of classmates, and tackle a problem; you may decide to ask for matching donations from friends, family, and/or community members.  Use your imagination, and see how far this $10.00 can go.  Make a difference in your community.
Upon completion of the assignment, you will be asked to write a reflective essay on this experience.  The Circleville City Schools Foundation may ask to use your essay for some form of positive publicity.
Good luck, and have fun with the assignment.  I look forward to your results.
