CODE
OF CONDUCT
POLICY:
The faculty of the
health occupations program believes that there are certain attitudes and
patterns of behavior, which students of health occupations must demonstrate
for the competent and ethical practice of health occupations. These attitudes
and behaviors are expected of all students as they progress through the
program. They are described below. Students should understand that failure
to meet the requirements--even though all curricular objectives are met--might
be grounds for dismissal at any time during the program. Students will
be accountable for:
1.
Assuming responsibility for his/her own learning as evidenced by:
a. Independent study to prepare for
class and clinical assignments.
b. Initiating questions and discussion
with the instructors for clarifications and validation of the results
of their independent study.
c. Seeking new learning experience
in the classroom, practice laboratory and clinical laboratory.
d. Accepting and implementing constructive
criticism and suggestions.
e. Integrating the objectives and
previously earned concepts in each situation.
f. Making up all assignments, lab
and tests when absent.
2. Displaying integrity in personal, education and professional
activities as evidence by:
a. Honesty, including, but not limited
to, following the program policy on cheating and plagiarism.
b. Adherence to community laws, rules
and regulations of the program policies and procedures of all the clinical
sites. Students will not be permitted at clinical sites if they have any
felony charges (as manifested by state law)
c. Respect for the dignity and rights
of all persons--peers, patients, personnel and faculty.
d. Assuming responsibility for providing
only that care which the student is adequately prepared and independently
seeking guidance and supervision for these activities where he/she lacks
experience.
3. Demonstrating responsibility for his/her own behavior
as evidence by:
a. Consistent and prompt attendance
at all scheduled learning experiences.
b. Consistent and prompt completion
of all assignments.
c. Following the dress code.
d. Maintaining good health/hygiene
habits. |
