Student Learning Objectives (SLO)
2018-2019
I. Important Dates
Assessment Due Date - August 31, 2018
Pre-Assessment Administration - Completed by September 14, 2018
SLO due date - October 3, 2018
SLO’s returned for any needed amendments - October 16, 2018
Final SLO submission for approval - October 30, 2018
Final SLO scoring completed and submitted - April 17, 2019
II. Assessments
Assessments must be reviewed by grade level and content level experts prior to submission.. This should include Pre-Assessment and Post-Assessment which should not be the same assessment. Reviewers should include a content or grade level teacher and an intervention specialist and be noted in SLO and also included on submit form with assessments when submitted. Assessments should be administered to all students in your courses and baseline data compiled by September 14, 2018.
III. SLO
Those required to do SLO’s must submit two. These should be focused on their own student data with no group SLO’s permitted where another teacher’s data is included in the submitting teacher’s data pool. The SLO should be typed on the template provided in the Staff Resources - SLO tab on the district web page (ODE Resources - ODE COMBO: SLO Template and Rubric Checklist). These should be submitted to your building principal by the initial due date of October 1. Please realize that the SLOT members are available to assist and answer questions during this development period. Once your SLO is submitted the SLOT will review and if needed make any suggested amendments to your SLO. These amendments must be made and the final SLO should be submitted by the due date. PLEASE NOTE: Failure to submit SLO’s by either due date will result in a score of “1” for the SLO.
IV. Growth Targets
Growth Targets should be written in a manner where scoring can be a 1,2,3,4, or 5. No growth target should be written where the only scores possible are a 1 or 5. These can be amendable after pre-assessment data is compiled.
V. Submitting
All required documents should be submitted to your building administrator.
