1. Artist Presentation – Present to the class 10 facts about the artist and their work and show 10 photos of the artist’s work. 2.
& 3. Free choice projects - create a work of their choice of media and subject matter – larger than 8˝” X 11”. 4.
& 5. Double grade – acrylic painting – larger than 12X18 –
their choice of subject matter. 6. Pastel drawing – 12X18 or larger – any subject matter. 7. Self-portrait – any medium – larger than 8˝ X 11. 8. Pencil drawing – 12X18 or larger – any subject matter. 9. Field trip to IMAX to see 3-D movie and to Rhodes Center to see top 300 art works in the state from Governor’s Art show. Final
drawing exam – last days of class.
Note: Lessons may vary
from nine weeks to nine weeks due to time factors or
the introduction and elimination of various lessons through out the year. And
…throughout the year, the curriculum builds onto the foundation of all
the students’ art works with reinforcement of the
elements and principles of
design. These design elements and
principles are also used in art criticism and their decision-making
processes for their art works. These will also be
used to enhance their art appreciation skills and the value of art to
them in their world. |

& 5. Use design and painting skills to create an acrylic painting. (Double grade) 6. Use drawing skills to create a pastel drawing. 7. Use drawing skills in any medium to create a self- portrait. 8. Use drawing skills to create a pencil drawing. |
