Circleville High School
Drug Free Clubs of America
Founded in 2005 by emergency responders, the Drug Free Clubs of America (DFCA) came about as a means to provide "something powerful" to protect our youth and preserve their future. The Circleville High School chapter of the DFCA was founded in 2016 and as of May 2018 was 300+ members strong. The program ralllies around youth to provide tactics that halt peer pressure, offers tangible reinforcement of good choices in the form of program incentives, facilitates educational drug awareness information, and uses family opt-in drug screenings offered on site by third-party medical professionals to screen for drugs. Throughout the course of the school year, enrolled Club Future students will be randomly screened for banned substances in their system. While every Club Future student is not screened on testing days, all students will be able to use their DFCA membership card for discounts and incentives offered by our supportive network of local businesses in Circleville and Pickaway County.
In the event of a positive screening, immediate wrap around services are offered to the student and parent to develop a systematic approach to curbing behaviors and implementing a wide range of supports at home and in school.
